Visit a Class at Tufts

Class visits are available to our student visitors on a walk-in basis during the Fall and Spring semesters. You do not need to register ahead of time for a class visit. Browse through the course listings here to get an idea of what your day as a Tufts student could be like.

Please Read Through These Guidelines as You Plan Your Class Visit:

    • It is required that you check in for your class visit at the Dowling Desk (7th floor) if you are attending a class on the Medford/Somerville campus, or at the Main Guard Desk if you are attending a studio art class on our School of the Museum of Fine Arts (SMFA) Fenway campus. Remember that class visits are only for prospective students. Sorry parents and family members, but faculty have requested that these classes be limited to prospective students only.
    • The classes offered below have been approved by the professors to welcome guests. Any other classes offered are unavailable to visit.
    • We ask that you not e-mail a professor in advance of your visit unless there is a "Contact Instructor" button in the notes. Please arrive to the class 10 minutes before the scheduled class time to introduce yourself to the professor.
    • If there is a blackout date on the day you will be visiting campus, we will not be able to accommodate visitors to classes.
    • Classes will be open to visitors during February and March. The last available day for class visits is Tuesday, March 31st.
    • Certain classes will also have days that are not appropriate for visitors (exam days, for example), so please check that individual course listing to make sure the class is open on the day of your visit. Classes may be moved or cancelled without notice. If possible, it is a good idea to have a second class picked out just in case.
    • There will be NO CLASSES on February 17th (Presidents’ Day) and March 14th through March 22nd (Spring Break).
    • Thursday, February 20th will operate on a Monday schedule.
    • Please note, studio art classes are offered on both the Medford/Somerville campus and the SMFA Fenway campus. Please reach out to to arrange a visit to one of our studio art classrooms.
